Here you will find a little about me, why I am blogging, and what my blog is all about.
About Me
I am a mother, wife, household CEO,...you get the idea. I am also an artist that recently went through some spiritual changes. My Dad passed away in March of this year and my Baptist upbringing did nothing to comfort me, so I started searching for something more...something more true for me. I started painting recently, and one of the first paintings was The Rising Goddess. The Rising Goddess is a Symbol of the re-emergence of a nature based spirituality and the falling away from the dogma, constructions, and culture of organized religion.
Why I am Blogging
It was Yule of 2008 when I received a book that changed my life, even if I didn't know it at the time. A friend gave me Silver Ravenwolf's Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation. After reading through most of it I started to find what was missing in my life: that sense of connecting to the divine in everyday life. So I started to discover ways to connect to the divine in ways that felt right for me.
What My Blog is All About
There are not many around here that share this path, and those that do are often (politely) ostracized. Of the few friends that know, only a couple follow a similar path. So I have created The Rising Goddess blog to share with others about family, friends, life, and the path that we all are on.
